It is characterized by vomiting and abdominal pain. Pulmonary edema, convulsions, coma, and death, with cerebral edema and fatty involvement of the liver, kidneys, and heart, may also occur. Chronic exposure to aflatoxins is associated with changes in nutrition and immunity. Treatment involves the use of antimicrobials and supportive care related to symptomololgy.
