adenoma sebaceum

adenoma sebaceum /sebā″sē·əm/ , firm skin-colored or red papules, often occurring in clusters on the cheeks, around the nose, and on the chin. They appear in childhood, from 5 years onward. The lesions are composed chiefly of fibrovascular tissue and are usually benign. Also called angiofibroma. See also tuberous sclerosis.
