Cornelia de Lange’s syndrome /kôr·nā′lē·ä dā läng′əz/ [Cornelia de Lange, Dutch pediatrician, 1871–1950] , a congenital syndrome of severe cognitive impairment with many other abnormalities, such as dwarfism, brachycephaly, low-set ears, webbed neck, carp mouth, peculiar shape of the nose, bushy eyebrows meeting at the midline, unruly coarse hair on the forehead and neck, and flat spadelike hands with short tapering fingers.
