common baldness

common baldness, androgenetic alopecia, in men called common male baldness and in women called common female baldness. Hair loss in women may be age-related or hormonal, or it may be associated with genetic predisposition; the hair thins all over the scalp, usually permanently, but the frontal hairline is maintained.
