cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) /in′trə·ep′ithē″lē·əl/ , abnormal changes in the basal layers of the squamous epithelial tissues of the uterus. The disorder is graded according to its pathological progress, from CIN1 to CIN3; CIN3 represents carcinoma of the cervix. The disorder is associated with human papillomaviruses.
