cerebrocostomandibular syndrome

cerebrocostomandibular syndrome /ser′əbrōkos′tō·mandib′yo̅o̅lər/ [L, cerebrum, brain + costa, rib + mandibula, mandible] , an extremely rare autosomal-recessive syndrome of severe micrognathia and costovertebral abnormalities, including small bell-shaped thorax, incompletely ossified aberrant rib structure, and abnormal rib attachment to vertebrae. There are also palatal defects, glossoptosis, prenatal and postnatal growth deficiencies, and in some cases moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, the latter sometimes related to neonatal respiratory distress.
