Brodmann’s areas

Brodmann’s areas /brod″manz, brōt″mons/ [Korbinian Brodmann, German anatomist, 1868–1918] , the 47 different areas of the cerebral cortex that are associated with specific neurological functions and distinguished by different cellular components. They control movements of the lips and vocal cords as well as motor speech. Compare motor area. See also cerebral cortex.
