bitrochanteric lipodystrophy /bī′trōkənter″ik/ [L, bis + Gk, trochanter, runner; lipos, fat, dys, bad, trophe, nourishment] , an abnormal and excessive deposition of fat on the buttocks and the outer aspect of the upper thighs, occurring most commonly in women. See also lipodystrophy.
