benign juvenile melanoma

benign juvenile melanoma, a noncancerous pink or fuchsia raised papule with a scaly surface, usually on a cheek. Occurring most commonly in children between 9 and 13 years of age, it may be mistaken for a malignant melanoma. Also called compound melanocytoma, spindle cell nevus, Spitz nevus.
