yellow nail syndrome

yellow nail syndrome, a rare condition in which there is complete or almost complete cessation of nail growth and loss of cuticle because of lymph in the soft layers of tissue under the skin. Nails become thickened, convex, opaque, and pale yellow to yellowish green. The condition is associated with pulmonary disorders and lymphedema.
