xanthomatosis /zan′thōmətō′sis/ [Gk, xanthos + oma + osis, condition] , an abnormal condition in which there are deposits of yellowish fatty material in the skin, internal organs, and reticuloendothelial system. It may be associated with hyperlipoproteinemia, paraproteinemia, lipoid storage diseases, and other disorders of adipose tissue. Also called xanthosis.
