wristdrop [AS, wrist + dropa] , a condition caused by paralysis of the extensor muscles of the hand and fingers or by injury of the radial nerve, resulting in inability to flex the wrist. ▪ INTERVENTIONS: An orthotic device can be used to provide support. Surgery is sometimes required if there is nerve impingement.
