uta

uta /yo̅o̅″tə/ [Sp, facial ulcers] , a mild cutaneous form of American leishmaniasis occurring in the Andes of Peru and Argentina, caused by Leishmania peruana. The lesions are small and usually occur on the exposed surfaces of the skin, which ordinarily heal spontaneously within 1 year. The disease has been slowly disappearing because of the increased use of insecticides.
