Toxoplasma

Toxoplasma /tok′sōplaz″mə/ [Gk, toxikon + plasma, something formed] , a genus of protozoa with only one known species, T. gondii, an intracellular parasite of cats and other hosts that causes toxoplasmosis in humans.
