tinzaparin /tin-zap′ah-rin/ , a low-molecular-weight heparin obtained by depolymerization of heparin from porcine intestinal mucosa by using a bacterial enzyme. It acts as an anticoagulant and antithrombotic and is used as an adjunct to warfarin in the treatment of deep venous thrombosis with or without pulmonary embolism and is administered subcutaneously.
