St. John’s wort, an herb that is native to Europe and Asia, also now grown in the United States. ▪ INDICATIONS: It is used as an antidepressant and antiviral. It has demonstrated efficacy against mild depression and certain other mood disturbances but does not have demonstrable antiviral efficacy. ▪ CONTRAINDICATIONS: It is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation, in children, or in those with known hypersensitivity to this product.
