Rochalimaea /rosh′əlimē″ə/ , a genus of bacteria resembling Rickettsia but found extracellularly in an arthropod host. The species, R. quintana (now called Bartonella quintana), is a cause of trench fever as transmitted by the body louse. A related bacterium, R. henselae, is a cause of bacillary angiomatosis in immunocompromised humans, including those with human immunodeficiency virus infection.
