Rhizopus

Rhizopus /rī″zōpəs/ , a genus of fungi having a sexual phase and an asexual phase and reproducing by both sexually and asexually produced spores. It includes some species identified as a cause of zygomycosis in humans. Several species are molds and saprobes on fruits, vegetables, or baked goods and can cause mucormycosis.
