radiologic technologist, an allied health professional who, under the supervision of a physician radiologist, operates radiographic equipment and assists radiologists and other health professionals and whose competence has been tested and approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is Canada’s national professional association and certifying body for medical radiation technologists and therapists. Also called radiographer, x-ray technologist.
