Plummer-Vinson syndrome /plum″ər vin″sən/ [Henry S. Plummer; Porter P. Vinson, American physician, 1890–1959] , a rare disorder associated with severe and chronic iron deficiency anemia, characterized by glossitis, koilonychia, and dysphagia caused by esophageal webs at the level of the cricoid cartilage. Also called Paterson-Kelly syndrome, sideropenic dysphagia.
