osteosclerosis /os′tē·ōsklerō″sis/ [Gk, osteon + skleros, hard, osis, condition] , an abnormal increase in the density of bone tissue. The condition occurs in a variety of disease states and is commonly associated with ischemia, chronic infection, and tumor formation.
