The model is a holistic representation of the patient and the health care system. The patient’s physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and developmental status; the patient’s stressors and ability to react to them; and the levels and patterns of available health care are observed. The goal is to learn what nursing interventions would be most effective for the particular problem within the particular health care system.
