antithymocyte globulin (ATG) /an′tithī″məsīt/ , the gamma globulin fraction of antiserum derived from animals that have been immunized against human thymocytes; an example is an immunosuppressive agent that causes specific destruction of T cells, used in treatment of allograft rejection.
