Unlabeled uses include chronic pain, anxiety, enuresis, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. ▪ CONTRAINDICATIONS: Concomitant administration of monoamine oxidase inhibitors, recent myocardial infarction, pregnancy or known hypersensitivity to this drug or to other tricyclic medications prohibits its use. It is used with caution in patients who have a seizure disorder or a cardiovascular disease. ▪ ADVERSE EFFECTS: Among the more serious adverse effects are sedation and GI, cardiovascular, and neurological reactions. It interacts with many other drugs.
