normoblast /nôr″məblast/ [L, norma + Gk, blastos, germ] , nucleated bone marrow red blood cell precursor. Developmental stages include the pronormoblast, the basophilic normoblast, the polychromatophilic normoblast, and the orthochromic normoblast.
