neurenteric canal /no͝or′ənter″ik/ [Gk, neuron + enteron, intestine; L, canalis, channel] , a tubular passage between the posterior part of the neural tube and the archenteron in the early embryonic development of lower animals. It corresponds to the notochordal canal of humans and the higher animals. Also called archenteric canal, blastoporic canal, Braun’s canal.
