National Council of State Boards of Nursing, an organization through which boards of nursing from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, American Samoa, The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern related to the safe and effective practice of nursing in the interest of public health, safety, and welfare, including the development of nurse licensure examinations such as the NCLEX-RN® and NCLEX-PN®.
