National Council Licensure Examination® (NCLEX®)

National Council Licensure Examination® (NCLEX®), a comprehensive integrated examination, developed and administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing in the United States and Canada, designed to test basic competency for nursing practice. The exam is administered by the individual boards of nursing that are members of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing or by nursing regulatory bodies in Canada. The exam can be offered to candidates for licensure as registered nurses (NCLEX-RN®) or as practical/vocational nurses (NCLEX-PN®).
