Mendel’s reflex

Mendel’s reflex /men′dəlz/ [Kurt Mendel, German neurologist, 1874–1946] , percussion of the top of the foot normally causing dorsal flexion of the second to fifth toes but in certain organic nervous conditions causing plantar flexion of the toes. Also called Bekhterev-Mendel reflex, cuboidodigital reflex, dorsocuboidal reflex, Mendel-Bekhterev reflex, Mendel’s dorsal reflex of foot, tarsophalangeal reflex.
