lymphoreticulosis /-retik′yəlō″sis/ [L, lympha + reticulum, little net; Gk, osis, condition] , subacute granulomatous inflammation of lymphoid tissue with proliferation of macrophages. The disorder, which can be caused by a cat scratch, is characterized by the formation of an ulcerated papule at the site of the scratch, fever, and tender lymphadenopathy, sometimes progressing to suppuration. Also called cat-scratch fever.
