Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease

Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease [Arthur T. Legg, American surgeon, 1874–1939; Jacques Calvé, French orthopedist, 1875–1954; Georg C. Perthes, German surgeon, 1869–1927] , osteochondrosis of the head of the femur in children, characterized initially by epiphyseal necrosis or degeneration, followed by regeneration or recalcification. Formerly called Perthes disease, Calvé-Perthes disease.
