Kinyoun stain, a modification of the Ziehl-Neelsen acid-fast stain in which organisms are stained cold by using carbol-fuchsin. It is often used for detection of mycobacteria, Nocardia, and oocysts of some parasites. See also carbol-fuchsin stain.
