hypofibrinogenemia /-fī′brinōjənē″mē·ə/ [Gk, hypo + L, fibra, fiber; Gk, genein, to produce, haima, blood] , plasma fibrinogen deficiency. It may be inherited or acquired, as in disseminated intravascular coagulation or liver disease. Also spelled hypofibrinogenaemia.
