gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT)

gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT), an enzyme that appears in the serum of patients with several types of liver or gallbladder disorders, including drug hepatotoxicity, biliary tract obstruction, alcohol-induced liver disease, and liver carcinoma. Normal adult (after 45 years of age) GGT blood levels are 8 to 38 U/L.
