INDICATIONS: It is prescribed for treatment of cancer of the prostate, cervix, and bladder and for reduction of fluid accumulation secondary to a cancer. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Ulcerative tumors, pregnancy, lactation, or unhealed surgical wounds prohibit its use. It is not prescribed for patients less than 18 years of age. ADVERSE EFFECTS: The most serious adverse effect is radiation sickness.
