flextime

flextime /fleks″tīm/ [L, flectere, to bend; AS, tima] , a system of staffing that allows the individualization of work schedules. A person working days may choose to work from 7:00 to 3:00, 9:00 to 5:00, or other hours. Full staffing must be maintained, but within the group flextime can be arranged. Use of the system tends to improve morale and decrease turnover. Also called flexitime.
