dyssebacea /disibā″shē·ə/ [Gk, dys + L, sebum, suet] , a skin condition characterized by red, scaly, greasy patches on the nose, eyelids, scrotum, and labia. It results from a deficiency of vitamin B2 and is most commonly associated with chronic alcoholism, liver disease, chronic diarrhea, and protein malnutrition. Also called shark skin.
