disciform keratitis /dis″ifôrm/ [Gk, diskos, flat plate; L, forma, form; Gk, keras, horn, itis, inflammation] , an inflammatory condition of the eye that often follows an attack of dendritic keratitis, believed to be an immunological response to an ocular herpes simplex infection. The condition is characterized by disclike opacities in the cornea, usually with inflammation of the iris. See also herpes simplex.
