diflorasone diacetate /dīflôr″əsōn dī·as″ətāt/ , a topical corticosteroid with high potency. ▪ INDICATIONS: It is prescribed for the treatment of skin inflammation. ▪ CONTRAINDICATIONS: Viral and fungal diseases of the skin, impaired circulation, or known hypersensitivity to this drug or to other steroidal medication prohibits its use. ▪ ADVERSE EFFECTS: Among the more serious adverse reactions, usually occurring after prolonged or excessive application, are striae, hypopigmentation, local irritation of the skin, and various systemic effects.
